LASIK Laser Eye Surgery

At Booth Optometry Group we work closely with Dr. Tom Tooma and NVision LASIK centers to decide if LASIK is the best treatment for you. We co-manage your pre and post opterative LASIK care.

LASIK and other laser refractive procedures work by altering the shape of the front surface of the eye, the cornea. The cornea's new shape compensates for a prescription and allows light rays to focus on the back of the eye, improving the clarity of your vision.  LASIK is used to treat nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. For most people, the procedure results in a reduced dependence on corrective lenses. For others, it eliminates the need to wear glasses altogether. What a freedom it is for many to finally be able to see without their contacts or glasses on!

Custom LASIK incorporates breakthrough technology to produce even more favorable results. With custom LASIK, you can correct visual flaws that are not addressed by the more basic LASIK surgery. During the procedure, your eye is mapped using wavefront technology. In many ways, this is like a fingerprint. You have unique contours and wavefront mapping corrects any irregularities in those contours. This treatment can also improve glare, poor night vision, halos, starburst patterns, and haze.

Visit us at Booth Optometry Group to determine if custom LASIK is right for you. Some medical conditions may preclude the ability to have the surgery, including advanced glaucoma, pregnancy, the presence of autoimmune diseases, and corneal disease.

We will be happy to evaluate your eye health and help you determine if custom LASIK is a viable option for you. If it is, we will guide you through the steps of the procedure so you are prepared and comfortable. And if not, we can discuss other treatment options with you. We are ready to help you preserve and improve your vision in the manner that is best for you.
